City Parks for Launching
There are a few parks around the valley where launching model rockets is allowed. This information is subject to change at any time, so be sure to verify that the city hasn't changed the park rules before launching.
City of Phoenix
There are eight Phoenix parks that allow flying model rockets using A or B sized motors only:

City of Gilbert
Gilbert city ordinance section 46-44 describes the rockets that may be launched and which parks:
(a) National Association of Rocketry (NAR) safety code is to be observed in launching model rockets in town parks (i.e., engine size and launch site dimension coordination, angle of launch, wind velocity, ignition system, audible countdown, etc.);
(b) Rocket engines size "E" and larger are banned from launching in town parks;
(c) Rockets larger than 16 ounces are banned from launching in town parks;
(d) Rockets must be supervised and launched by persons of a responsible age and attendance at a Gilbert Parks and Recreation Department model rocket course or similar safety course is encouraged;
(e) Size "C" and "D" engines can only be launched in large open areas of the following parks: Freestone, Crossroads, Nichols, and Gilbert Youth Soccer Complex with strict adherence to the NAR safety code;
(f) No rocket launches are allowed in town parks on or near sports fields while town sponsored, approved athletic practices or competitions, or large group gatherings are occurring in the park; and
(g) Children younger than 12 years of age shall be accompanied by a responsible adult when launching model rockets in town parks.
(h) No rocket launches are permitted in the town riparian preserves, Discovery Park or Zanjero Park.
(i) All rocket launches must be contained within the open area of the park.
(j) A permit is required whenever any individual or group wants to launch five or more rockets in one location during a specified time period.
City of Chandler
Awnings, chairs, coolers, etc are allowed (no alcohol). NO staking – awnings can be sandbagged. Parking provided outside the fenced area, no vehicles are allowed inside the fenced area. This site is available by permit only.
